Founded in 2005, the North East Economic Forum provides meaningful opportunities for regional stakeholders to discuss the North East economy with national and international leaders.
Over two decades, we’ve built a strong reputation, both regionally and nationally, demonstrated through the calibre of speakers attending our events. Past speakers include prime ministers, chancellors, senior government ministers, international trade envoys and industry leaders.
We host a series of themed seminars, events and conferences, in person and online, culminating in an annual conference. We identify the key issues relevant to the North East’s economy and attempt to provide innovative approaches to addressing these challenges, leading to greater investment, economic growth and jobs.
Key to the success of the forum has been our ability to provide a platform attractive to all major political parties, combined with figures from business of national and international standing.
An impressive list of our past speakers include:
Sir Keir Starmer
Prime Minister, David Cameron
His Excellency, Mr Keiichi Hayashi, Japan’s Ambassador to the UK
Alistair Darling, MP
Rachel Reeves, MP
Ed Miliband, MP
Phillip Hammond, MP
Eric Pickles, MP
